My father used to race at US 13 Delmar dragstrip often in the mid 60's, I was a teenager and would go with him.  My dad's name was Lew (Lewis) Brace. He raced at Delmar (and Capital, and York, and Richmond) frequently in the 60's...roughly 1965 to 1970. He started out drag racing a new/first-year Olds 442, got 'bit' by racing, and purpose-built a drag car. His car was a '59 Chevy, named "'Lew'cifer" to play off his name.  Most race days, he took home the class-win trophy for D Stock. Mom had a LOT of trophies, what she called 'dust catchers' to get rid of after dad passed. I went with him on most race days, a great experience for a young teen, and it started a car obsession that continues to this day.
